Following Sage Blair Lawsuit, 67 Groups Call on DOE Officials Suzanne Goldberg and Catherine Lhamon to Resign

Following Sage Blair Lawsuit, 67 Groups Call on DOE Officials Suzanne Goldberg and Catherine Lhamon to Resign

WASHINGTON / November 1, 2023 – Seeking to fulfil Joe Biden’s campaign promise (1), acting director Suzanne Goldberg at the Department of Education commenced work on a Title IX regulation that would redefine “sex” to include “gender identity.” Less than six months after Joe Biden took office – and sidestepping legal requirements for public review-and-comment — the new regulation was issued on June 22, 2021. (2)

Just weeks after the unlawful policy took effect, Sage Blair informed officials at Appomattox County High School in Virginia that she had decided to identify as a male. Her plan to be referred to with a new gender pronoun and use the boys’ bathroom was met with skepticism. Sadly, Sage’s parents were not informed of these developments until weeks later.

Sage, 14, had experienced mental health problems as a child, and her condition now took a turn for the worse. Sage dropped out of school and left her home. Her life turned into a nightmare as she was drugged, sex trafficked, and repeatedly raped (3).

After Sage was rescued, her parents filed a lawsuit against the high school, charging:

“All of this could have been prevented if Sage’s parents had been fully apprised of her mental state and given the opportunity to provide the necessary mental health counseling when she first began questioning her identity. Instead, both the school district and public defender’s office decided they knew better than the parents. As a result of their arrogance, Sage was victimized multiple times over.”

When Goldberg began to draft the new regulation, serious safety concerns about medical services for transgender youth already had been documented in Finland, Sweden, and elsewhere (4). In England, the High Court ruled that youth under the age of 16 were unlikely to be mature enough to give informed consent to take puberty blockers (5). But Goldberg and her boss, Catherine Lhamon, blithely pushed ahead.

On October 24, House Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx rapped the knuckles of the Department of Education for subverting the “constitutional authority vested in Congress.” (6)

One week later, 67 organizations endorsed a letter calling for the resignation of Suzanne Goldberg and Catherine Lhamon:

“Encouraging hundreds of thousands of children and youth to transition to a different sex represents a radical medical experiment…These violations of the Administrative Procedure Act are unlawful, willful, and utterly contrary to the public interest. We call on you to immediately resign your positions at the U.S. Department of Education.”

The letter, signed by 67 national and state organizations, is available online: https://www.saveservices.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/Suzanne-Goldberg-and-Catherine-Lhamon-Coalition-letter-11.1.2023.pdf

Mothers Who Kill Their Ex-Husbands to Gain Child Custody

Mothers Who Kill Their Ex-Husbands to Gain Child Custody

SAVE

October 22, 2023

The ultimate form of parental alienation occurs when a parent kills the other parent so they don’t have to share custody of their children. These homicides typically involve a mother who kills, or arranges for someone else to kill, their ex-husband. The common theme that runs through these cases is a mother who views the children as her property and is unwilling to share custody with the father.

Children may also be at risk. According to an article by Phillip Resnick on Filicide in the United States, “Evaluators in child custody disputes should be alert to situations in which a mother is so convinced that her child will be sexually abused if custody is awarded to her ex-husband that she decides that the child is better off in heaven.”

These six cases all made the news in 2023:

  1. Solicitation of Crime and “Things of Value” (Plus a Mother-of-the-Year Candidate)

On September 28, 2023, a jury convicted Vanessa Valdiglesias LaValle of two counts of criminal solicitation after she told her minor son, S.G., that he could be with her “forever” if he poisoned his father.

2. Ex-wife of slain Microsoft exec Jared Bridegan charged with his murder

On August 17, 2023, the ex-wife of murdered Microsoft executive Jaren Bridegan was charged with first-degree murder in connection with his murder. Bridegan, who was in the midst of a custody dispute with his ex-wife, was ambushed on the street after dropping-off the couple’s children at his ex-wife’s house. The mother’s new husband has also been charged in the murder.

3. Accused in Missing Man’s Grisly Killing: His Ex-Wife and Her Husband

Three years ago, Steven Kraft disappeared. In June 2023, Jamie and Nicholas Orsini were arrested and accused of carrying out an elaborate plot to kill him and dispose of his body.

4. Charlie Adelson’s trial over Dan Markel’s killing will now start in October

Florida State law professor Dan Markel, who was murdered while sitting in a car in his garage. Markel was in the midst of a custody dispute with his ex-wife, who was also a law professor. The ex-wife’s brother, a prominent dentist, has been charged with first degree murder for arranging the contract killing. The trigger-men have already been convicted.  Many people believe other members of the wife’s family, including the wife herself, were involved.

5. Dad Wins Custody of Kids, Then Ex’s Boyfriend Kills Him Moments After, VA Family Says

Alex Brown, 29, was shot outside his mother and stepfather’s home in Louisa, Virginia around 3:20 p.m. on May 9 after returning from the hearing, where he was awarded custody of his two sons, according to police and a GoFundMe page created by family members.

6. ‘Polar Opposite’ Twin Sisters Team Up To Kill One’s Ex-Husband Over Custody Dispute

When Aaron Smith learned his wife was having an affair, he filed for a divorce. A week before his murder, Aaron won full custody of his children. But when he went to pick up the two children, he spotted his ex-wife speeding away with them in a car. His ex-wife had left the state with the children. On July 23, 1997, Aaron was found dead from a gunshot wound outside his home. Aaron was shot in the back as he ran for safety.

A Google search on the words father, kills, ex-wife, custody dispute, and 2023 turns up only a single case in Texas.

Federal Transgender Policy Has Turned Nation’s Youth into Unwitting Guinea Pigs

PRESS RELEASE

Federal Transgender Policy Has Turned Nation’s Youth into Unwitting Guinea Pigs

WASHINGTON / October 23, 2023 – About 300,000 American youth ages 13-17 currently identify as transgender. This represents a doubling of their numbers in the past five years (1). These persons are now serving as guinea pigs in a nationwide medical experiment.

These 300,000 youth are undergoing the process of “gender transitioning,” a life-altering transformation that involves three steps (2):

  1. Social Transitioning: Assuming a new name, accepting new gender pronouns, and using bathrooms of the opposite sex.
  2. Medical Transitioning: Taking hormones to create the physical characteristics of the opposite sex, affecting muscle growth, facial hair, and more.
  3. Surgical Transitioning: Undergoing procedures such as breast removal or augmentation, penile inversion vaginoplasty, phalloplasty, hysterectomy, and more.

The safety and effectiveness of these procedures are hotly debated. One recent article, Current Concerns About Gender-Affirming Therapy in Adolescents, concluded that among youth transitioners, “every quality systematic review…has failed to find credible benefits.” (3)

Other studies have reached the opposite conclusion, that gender transitioning can improve a person’s quality of life and mental health, at least in the short run (4).

The obvious way to reconcile these confusing findings would for a child who is considering a gender transition to consult with their personal physician, along with his or her parents, to weigh the pros and cons of the various courses of action.

Unfortunately, school districts in 38 states — AL, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, DC, HI, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, OH, OR, PA, RI, TX, UT, VT, VA, WA, WI, and WY – currently have policies that say school personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status a secret from the parents. By recent count, 10.7 million students across the country are now attending schools with such policies in place (5).

Obviously, if parents are not informed that their child is contemplating a change of genders, they will not be able to provide counsel, advice, or support. And the child is left to his or her own devices to sort through a welter of contradictory studies to reach a life-altering decision that is truly “informed.”

Later, youth who transition may run away from the family home, placing them at risk of becoming a victim of sex trafficking (6).

Thanks to the Department of Education’s unlawful decision to expand the definition of sex to include “gender identity” – masterminded by DOE officials Suzanne Goldberg and Catherine Lhamon (7) — a Mengelesque medical experiment has been unleashed across the land (8).

And innocent children and youth are serving as its unwitting guinea pigs.

Bias-Watch: Why Does UN Women’s Public Messaging Appear To Back Palestine/Hamas Over Israel?

Bias-Watch: Why Does UN Women’s Public Messaging Appear To Back Palestine/Hamas Over Israel?

Sean Parker

October 20, 2023

Pinned to the top of UN Women’s X (formerly Twitter) public account is a post reading: ‘UN Women condemns the attacks on civilians in Israel & the Occupied Palestinian Territories, & is deeply alarmed by the devastating impact on civilians including women & girls. International Humanitarian Law & Human Rights Law must be respected & upheld.’

UN Women has 2.2 million followers, and its bio reads: ‘UN Women is the United Nations entity for gender equality and women’s empowerment.’ It is understood that UN Women is the gendered arm of the United Nations organisation, but any ‘UN Men’ account is less well documented. UNW’s Twitter/X account is legendary for infantile, repetitive posts, such as would be made by a perpetually aggrieved teenager. It’s almost as if the org’s higher management had no idea what was happening in its brave new social media department.

So far, so politically feminist. While equality feminism can hardly lay claim to any residual leftism, with most of its beneficiaries being power-suited woman bankers and the like, political feminism remains resolutely rooted in the Marxist tradition. Grievance intersectionality is strong in these people, feeling the pain of the trans community, the Mexicans, illegal immigrants to the UK and the Palestinians.

The difference between the Palestinians who voted in the proscribed terrorist organisation Hamas and the barbaric acts meted out in south Israel on October 7th 2023 may be unclear to them, but its brightly delineated to the less indoctrinated. The murder of hundreds of young festival-goers near the Gaza border, taking of hundreds more hostages, and harrowing reports/pictures of decapitated babies doesn’t seem enough to even add pause to the support of some. There are online divisions, there are culture wars, and then there is the ancient Arabs vs Jews faultline. If you didn’t think things could get more divisive than Donald Trump, Brexit and the pros and cons of the Covid jab, that was before the resurgence of this particular conflict of the ages.

UN Women, like most political feminism, will tacitly equate Israel with dominant, authoritarian masculinity, and Palestine with long-suffering, put-upon women. So a little terrorism is justified in breaking free of the shackles, surely? That is the binary thinking of much fourth-wave feminism (4WF) voiced by presentable media types all over the West: what’s one wrongfully convicted man if ten women get to be ‘heard’?

It’s a relatively undefined new morality, based on the ‘move fast and break things’ model of a young Mark Zuckerberg (and fellow Silicon valley types). The ends justify the means for the underdog, even when international Equality Acts guarantee equity across the West, and women are doing better in every metric – still grievance is claimed, and criticism/reality swerved. This is why UN Women support Palestine in its media messaging; and in the same way they won’t so much criticise Israel or the Jews explicitly for the brutal murder of its own citizens, it will immediately criticise its incendiary response.

This is a reflection of the ‘don’t mention the problems of men’ stance of 4FW’s, in a craven avoidance of difficult equities of another sort, not to mention unhelpful to the eternal cause. When will the stonewalling and deliberate divisionism ever be enough? Probably when men themselves are a tiny, marginalised minority – and Israel is too.

UN Women Statement on the Situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory

UN Women statement on the Situation in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territory

[Also available in Arabic]

UN Women condemns the attacks on civilians in Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories and is deeply alarmed by the devastating impact on civilians including women and girls.

We reiterate the UN Secretary-General’s call to all parties to ensure the safety of civilians and civilian infrastructure. International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights Law must be respected and upheld.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza was dire before these hostilities and has now severely worsened. This exacts unjustifiable and specific costs on women and girls. The demand to immediately relocate 1.1 million people from northern Gaza, while the entire territory is under siege, is extremely dangerous.

We reiterate the Secretary-General’s call today for unrestricted access for humanitarian actors into Gaza, including the United Nations, to provide aid to the most affected. This is essential to address the desperate, immediate needs of women and children, including to food, water, and protection. We also join in his call for the immediate release of hostages.

UN Women has been supporting Palestinian women since 1997 to achieve their social, economic, and political rights. We remain present on the ground to provide support and assistance and will do so for as long as it takes.

Department of Education Made a Mockery of APA Law to Fast-Track Lethal Transgender Policy

PRESS RELEASE

Department of Education Made a Mockery of APA Law to Fast-Track Lethal Transgender Policy

WASHINGTON / October 18, 2023 – During his presidential campaign, Joe Biden promised a “quick end” to the Trump Administration’s Title IX rule (1). From the first day of the Biden Administration, Suzanne Goldberg took over the helm at the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Goldberg served in that capacity until November 17, 2021, when Catherine Lhamon took over as the new Assistant Secretary for Education.

Little did members of the American public suspect that they were about to witness a flagrant abuse of the federal law known as the Administrative Procedure Act (APA). (2) The law requires federal agencies to publish an advance version of any proposed regulation, so persons are able to express their views on the proposed Rule (3).

On June 22, 2021, without advance warning or notice, the OCR issued a new Title IX Rule (4). The regulation warned schools that OCR would “fully enforce Title IX to prohibit discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in education programs and activities.” The new policy took effect on the same day.

The new Rule represented a violation of all three APA requirements:

  1. No prior notice.
  2. No opportunity for public review and comment.
  3. No agency response to public comments, since no comments had been solicited.

In response, on August 30, 2021 the Attorneys General from 20 states — AL, AK, AZ, AR, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MS, MO, MT, NE, OH, OK, SC, SD, TN, and WV — brought a 14-count lawsuit against the DOE, alleging the Title IX Rule was procedurally and substantively unlawful under the Administrative Procedure Act (5).  Nearly one year later, on July 15, 2022, the District Court of Tennessee issued a Temporary Injunction against the directive (6). But the Temporary Injunction only applies to the 20 states that had filed the lawsuit.

But the damage had been done. Educators across the country had been warned of the dire consequences of not enforcing the new transgender policy. By recent count, 10.7 million students are now attending schools with policies stating personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status hidden from parents (7).

Now, about 300,000 American youth ages 13-17 identify as transgender, representing a doubling of their numbers in the past five years (8). And 18% of LGBTQ youth attempted suicide in the past year (9).

Encouraging hundreds of thousands of children and youth to transition to a different sex represents a radical medical experiment. In the words of ethicist Ryan Anderson, “Doctors are conducting a giant experiment that does not come close to the ethical standards demanded in other areas of medicine.” (10)

In short, OCR leaders Suzanne Goldberg and Catherine Lhamon simply ignored the Administrative Procedure Act in order to bow to Joe Biden’s campaign promise. The abuses were so calculated, flagrant, and contrary to the public interest that Suzanne Goldberg and Catherine Lhamon must now resign their positions at the U.S. Department of Education.

Schools Urged to Update Parental Notification Policies to Curb Rash of Suicides Among Transgender Students

PRESS RELEASE

Schools Urged to Update Parental Notification Policies to Curb Rash of Suicides Among Transgender Students

WASHINGTON / October 10, 2023 – On May 17, transgender student Kalie Nova Dunn left school, walked to the bridge spanning I-293 in Manchester, New Hampshire, and leapt to his untimely death (1). The tragic demise of Nova Dunn, 14 years old, underscored the broader issues of transgenderism in four ways:

Suicide Epidemic: The death of Dunn highlights reports of dramatically increased risk of suicide attempts and deaths among transgender individuals. These are two of many studies:

  • A large study in Denmark found that trans-identified persons had a rate of suicide deaths 3.5 times higher than among the overall population (2).
  • The Trevor Project revealed that one in four Black transgender and nonbinary young people in the U.S. reported a suicide attempt in the past year (3).

Mental Health Causes: Dunn had long been battling serious depression. Research shows most minors referred to gender clinics are teenagers with “no history of gender-related distress before puberty and with at least one psychiatric diagnosis.” (4)

Indeed, the nation’s leading LGBT groups have long recognized the key role of mental health problems. The 2017 report, Talking About Suicide and LGBT Populations, affirmed, “Suicide deaths are almost always the result of multiple overlapping causes, including mental health issues that might not have been recognized or treated.” (5)

False Media Narratives: Several media accounts claimed that Dunn had been a victim of “bullying” and “transphobia.” One headline stated flatly, “Bullied Transgender Youth Dies by Suicide in N.H.” The article went on to claim, “Multiple sources alleged that bullying and transphobia factored into the death of the teen.” (6)

But these “multiple sources” turned out to be members of transgender advocacy groups, not persons with any direct knowledge of the circumstances surrounding Dunn’s death. Indeed, the Washington Blade reporter cautioned readers that he had been “unable to verify any of those claims.”

Parental Secrecy Policies: Currently, 1,045 school districts across the country have policies stating personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status hidden from parents (7). One of those districts is the Manchester, NH School District. The district’s policy on Transgender and Gender Non-Confirming Students states, “School personnel should not disclose information that may reveal a student’s transgender status or gender nonconforming presentation to others [including parents] unless legally required to do so or unless the student has authorized such disclosure.” (8)

But these policies are being challenged. Last week, a federal judge issued a ruling against a Wisconsin school district that had enacted a parental secrecy policy. Judge Michael Maxwell opined,

“This Court has before it what modern society deems a controversial issue – transgenderism involving minors within our schools… However, this particular case is not about that broad controversial issue. This particular case is simply whether a school district can supplant a parent’s right to control the healthcare and medical decisions for their children. The well-established case law in that regard is clear – Kettle Moraine cannot.” (9)

Given the legal and mortal dangers of depriving gender-confused children of the emotional support of their parents, SAVE urges schools across the nation to review and update their parental notification policies.

Second Republican Presidential Debate Addresses Title IX Issues

Second Republican Presidential Debate Addresses Title IX Issues

By Betsy Armstrong

October 5, 2023

The second presidential debate was held on September 27, 2023. There were 33 questions over a two-hour period between three moderators and seven candidates. The questions and answers pertaining to Title IX focused on transgenderism, parental rights, and discrimination.

Question # 18 came early in the second hour of the debate, posed by Dana Perrino, a Fox News host, to businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, then also asked of North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum. The question concerned the 10.7 million students in over one thousand public schools nationwide that have the ability to change their identity without parental notification. Would the candidates pass a federal law to protect parental rights?

Mr. Ramaswamy’s remarks were blunt and to the point: “Transgenderism, especially in kids, is a mental health disorder. We have to acknowledge the truth of that for what it is. … Parents have the right to know. …  The very people who claim that this increases the risk of suicide, are also the ones saying parents don’t have the right to know about that increased risk of suicide. And I’m sorry, it is not compassionate to affirm a kid’s confusion. That is not compassion, that is cruelty. … I will ban genital mutilation or chemical castration. … states absolutely have to follow through to stand for parental rights, yes.

Gov. Burgum’s remarks strayed away from the question after his initial answer: “I think that this is a states’ issue …  There are certain things that government is supposed to do. It’s not the Department of Education that needs to be assembled, we’ve got to move it back to the states.”

Question 19 was asked by Univision anchor Ilia Calderón of Vice President Pence that in light of the Department of Homeland Security warnings that violence against LGBTQ+ people is on the rise and intensifying, how would he protect those communities from violent attacks and discrimination?

Vice President Pence answered: “I’ll stand up for the safety and civil liberties of every American from every background. …  the Linn-Mar schools in Iowa had a policy where you had to have a permission slip from your parents to get a Tylenol but you could get a gender transition plan without notifying your parents. … That’s not bad policy, that’s crazy. We’re going to stand up for the rights of parents and we’re going to pass a federal ban on transgender chemical or surgical/surgery anywhere in the country. We’ve got to protect our kids from this radical gender ideology agenda.”

Candidates Are Invited to Sign ‘Pledge to Protect Schools, Children, and Families from Federal Title IX Plan’

WASHINGTON / October 5, 2023 – The U.S. Department of Education is proposing to redefine the meaning of sex to include “gender identity” as part of the Title IX law (1). This change would have transformative effects on schools, children, families, and American society at large (2).

In response, SAVE is inviting candidates for federal, state, or local office to sign a “Candidate Pledge to Protect Schools, Children, and Families from the Federal Title IX Plan.” The Pledge states,

When elected to office, I pledge to work to assure that:

  1. Schools and other organizations shall utilize the traditional binary definition of “sex.”
  2. Schools shall obtain prior consent from parents for any use of gender pronouns, or gender-dysphoria counseling or treatments.
  3. Parents shall have the right to examine and opt their children out of any school curricula dealing with sexuality and gender identity.
  4. Schools shall only allow biological females to participate in women’s sports, enter women’s locker rooms, and use women’s bathrooms.
  5. Schools shall adhere to Constitutional due process procedures to protect falsely accused males from Title IX complaints.
  6. Schools and other institutions shall fully uphold Constitutional free speech guarantees.

The Candidate Pledge can be viewed online (3). Candidates can indicate their support for the Pledge by sending a confirmatory email to: rthompson@saveservices.org

Even though the Pledge was not publicly announced until October 5, lawmakers in Alabama, Idaho, Iowa, Vermont, Virginia, and West Virginia already have signed on to the statement (4).

The Biden Title IX proposal has faced stiff criticism from numerous federal and state lawmakers and attorneys general (5). In addition, five Republican presidential candidates are now calling for the abolition of the Department of Education (6).

Candidates for school boards also are invited to sign the Pledge. At last count, 1,045 school districts around the country have implemented policies stating that school personnel can or should keep a student’s transgender status hidden from parents (7).

Candidates are welcome to display the signed Pledge on their campaign websites and at campaign events.

LGBTQ Advocates Push Back Against Biden Title IX Plan

WASHINGTON / October 2, 2023 – The Biden Department of Education is expected to miss its self-imposed October deadline to issue a new Title IX regulation (1). The proposal has faced stiff opposition from lawmakers, state attorneys general, and presidential candidates (2).

Now, a growing number of LGBTQ advocates are criticizing the plan, as well:

LGBTQ Activists: Leading LGBTQ advocate Alejandra Caraballo complained, “Honestly, this move by Biden to push a rule on trans kids in sports is not only a backwards betrayal, it forces us to have to spend our time dealing with sports instead of criminal bans on our healthcare.” (3)

Gays Against Groomers: Sporting 17 chapters nationwide, Gays Against Groomers has become a strong voice of opposition to the Biden plan (4). At a September 21 SAVE press conference, Brady Oehler, leader of the group’s D.C. chapter, explained, “Gays Against Groomers does not advocate against adults who have gender dysphoria, but advocates for the protection of children, and to be a voice for the voiceless…If you truly care and want to support those that need guidance, you will not take our youth and use them to push a gender ideology.” (5)

Expert Witness: The most detailed criticism was voiced by Dr. Erica E. Anderson, a psychologist and transgender woman. Testifying in a recent lawsuit before the US District Court of Southern California, Anderson explained:

“A child or adolescent who exhibits a desire to change name and pronouns should receive a careful professional assessment prior to transitioning…Parental involvement is necessary to obtain professional assistance for a child or adolescent experiencing gender incongruence.”

Anderson concluded, “a social transition represents one of the most difficult psychological changes a person can experience. [And] embarking upon a social transition based solely upon the self-attestation of the youth without consultation with parents and appropriate professionals is unwise.”

Apparently swayed by this testimony, Judge Roger Benitez ruled on September 14 against the parental secrecy policy of the Escondido Union School District (6).

Detransitioners: Detransitioners are speaking out against gender dysphoria treatments for minors, as well (7). At a recent Congressional hearing, Chloe Cole described the gender transitioning of youth as “one of the biggest medical scandals in the history of the United States of America,” and issued a heart-felt plea to lawmakers to “bring the scandal to an end.” (8)

These developments have compelled 59 organizations to call for the resignation of DOE Office for Civil Rights director Catherine Lhamon (9).

The recent rise of the movement to promote gender transitioning can be attributed to a nihilistic philosophy known as“anti-humanism.” Proponent Patricia MacCormack explains, “The death of the human species is the most life-affirming event that could liberate the natural world from oppression.” (10)

Over a decade ago, anti-humanism began to infiltrate Leftist ideology, particularly the environmental movement (11). Anti-humanism is now evident in radical proposals to decimate livestock and curtail agricultural production (12).

Now, anti-humanism is targeting vulnerable children and youth so they no longer have the capacity to reproduce.
