Republicans Are Losing Elections as They Sidestep the Male Voter

WASHINGTON / November 20, 2025 – Republicans suffered greater-than-expected losses in the recent November 4 elections. In addition to the gubernatorial setbacks in Virginia and New Jersey, the GOP lost its supermajority in the Mississippi Senate; both Republican incumbents in Georgia’s Public Services Commission were ousted; and Republicans lost control of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court (1).

Most stunning was the fact that 84% of women under 30 voted to make Zohran Mamdani the mayor of New York City. In contrast, White men were the only demographic to vote against the Muslim communist (2).

To seal his 2024 victory, Donald Trump relied on a number of innovative strategies: intensive outreach via podcasts; leveraging high-profile male allies such as Elon Musk; voter registration drives that targeted men; and presenting himself as a positive masculine role model.

As a result, Trump scored impressive gains with all four racial and ethnic groups, largely due to a wave of support from 18 to 29 year-old men (3):

  • Whites: 4-point gain
  • Blacks: 8-point gain
  • Latinos: 12-point gain
  • Asians: 6-point gain

Following the November election, one would have expected Republicans to build on this momentum, especially since men are more likely than women to embrace pro-family, conservative values:

  1. Commitment to the Goals of Marriage: Men are more likely than women to agree that married persons are more likely to find happiness: Men: 38%; Women: 22%. (4)
  2. Parental Aspirations: Single young men are more likely than their female counterparts to aspire to become a parent. Men: 57%; Women: 45%. (5)
  3. Family Size: In response to the question, “What do you think is the ideal number of children for a family to have?”, the percentage of persons who responded, “Three or more children:” Men: 48%; Women: 37%. (6)
  4. Infidelity: Only 11% of husbands, compared to 14% of wives, had been involved in an extramarital affair, as of 2021-2022. (7)
  5. Divorce: Husbands initiate only 31 % of all divorces, while wives seek 69% of divorces. (8)

In 2025, the Democrat governors of California, Connecticut, Maryland, and Michigan launched high-profile programs designed to benefit men (9).

But Republican governors seemingly turned a cold shoulder to the male electorate — with the sole exception of Gov. Mike Braun of Indiana who issued a proclamation in support of Men’s Equality Month (10).

Commentators have probed the reasons behind the complacency:

  • Scott McCay argued the broader problem is “Republicans sitting on their rear ends” while the Left is “defrosting the Cold Civil War.” (11)
  • Charlie Kirk attributed the shortfall to the lack of a “revolutionary mindset” among conservatives (12).
  • Nathan Stone recently concluded, “There’s a lot of work to do between now and next November. So we had better get started and be anxious for the fray.” (13)

Bottom line, Republicans need to refocus on engaging with and winning the enthusiastic support of the male electorate.

Republicans Must Stop the Scapegoating and Shaming of Men

WASHINGTON / November 5, 2025 – Men have become the new power demographic of the American electorate (1). Indeed, men played a decisive role in swaying the outcome of the 2024 presidential election.

But inexplicably, a number of Republicans have issued pointed criticisms of men that are divisive, baseless, and even hysterical:

Rep. Nancy Mace, South Carolina: Mace vilifies men on a regular basis. In February, she accused three men of sexual abuse, triggering a defamation lawsuit against her (2).

Last Thursday, Mace arrived at the Charleston airport in a car with a different color, causing a mix-up with the male security agents. Mace went on a 10-minute tirade, calling the men “f***ing incompetent.” (3)  The tirade evolved into a four-day meltdown featuring hastily-called press conferences and denunciations by Republicans and Democrats alike. Journalist Karly Kingsley finally advised, “Therapy, Nancy. Try it.” (4)

Rep. Harriet Hageman, Wyoming: Hageman has issued numerous social media messages that seek to ridicule what she refers to as “weak men.” On September 18, she wrote, “weak men create hard times….Men who won’t secure the border.” (5)

Hageman apparently forgot that during the previous Administration, Vice President Kamala Harris had been appointed as the “Border Czar” to stop illegal immigration, a responsibility that she completely failed to fulfill. When will Hageman begin to refer to Harris as a “weak woman”?

Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene, Georgia: In response to being criticized for appearing on The View in October, Greene charged, “There are pathetic Republican men…attacking me.” Previously, Greene had issued a statement that emasculated Republican men for allegedly being “weak.” (6)

But many Republicans view Greene as a loose cannon who is a “thorn in the GOP’s side” and a “low-IQ soccer mom.” Laura Loomer once labeled her a “sellout” and “traitor.” (7)

Heritage President Kevin Roberts: In a recent interview about combatting anti-semitism, Roberts explained, “We are so concerned about that problem as a political issue, because we’re talking [about] at least several million young men.” (8)

But every major survey reveals men are more pro-Israeli than women. Men tend to sympathize with Israelis over Palestinians, view Israel favorably, support sending arms to Israel, and approve of Israel’s military actions. These surveys show men are 8–12 percentage points more likely than women to side with Israel (9).

So why did Roberts decide to single out men for criticism?

Wendy Wang, Institute for Family Studies: On August 25, Wang issued a report with the highly misleading headline, “Men with Prestigious Jobs Are More Likely to Cheat.” A more honest title would have read, “14% of Wives — and Only 11% of Husbands — Report Having Sex Outside of Marriage.” (10)

Indeed, more detailed analyses reveal that men are more likely than women to embrace a broad range of pro-family values and beliefs (11):

  1. Commitment to the Goals of Marriage: Men are more likely than women to agree that married persons are more likely to find happiness: Men: 38%; Women: 22%.
  2. Parental Aspirations: Single young men are more likely than their female counterparts to aspire to become a parent. Men: 57%; Women: 45%.
  3. Intimate Partner Violence: Men are more likely than women to be victims of domestic violence. Each year: Male victims: 5.5 million; Female victims: 4.8 million.
  4. Divorce: Husbands initiate 31 % of all divorces, while wives seek 69% of divorces.

The evidence is clear: men are the backbone of strong families and healthy societies (12). So why are so many Republicans trying to turn men into dupes and fools?
