VAWA Inclusion Mandate

These are the legal mandates for inclusive programs and services:

• 2013 Violence Against Women Act – Department of Justice
• Department of Health and Human Services and HUD

The new VAWA Inclusion Mandate applies to the full range of domestic violence programs, including:

1. Provision of victim services
2. Administration of criminal justice policies
3. Factually balanced training and public education programs

Previous reports have documented biases in these three areas. SAVE is working with a variety of groups to implement the Inclusion Mandate.
