Crisis of Men’s Health

  1. Men face a shorter lifespan than women, by nearly 6 years.
  2. The suicide rate for males 15-24 years-old rose by 26%, from 2010 to 2023.
  3. Each year, 200,000-250,000 men ages 25-64 die from accidents, heart disease, suicide and other causes. These causes are largely preventable.
  4. The annual lost productivity due to these deaths exceeds $700 billion to $1 trillion.
  5. When an elderly man dies, his wife faces a three-times greater risk of being admitted to a nursing home.
  6. The crisis for racial and ethnic minorities is especially severe.—>
