New Report Shows Law Enforcement Support of Exonerations at Record Highs

In 2012, the number of cases in which prosecutors or police helped exonerate innocent defendants increased dramatically, according to a report released today by the National Registry of Exonerations. For the first time, law enforcement initiated or cooperated in a majority of exonerations, a “highly important” finding, according to Professor Samuel Gross, Registry editor.
