A 46-year-old woman was charged with trying to kill her husband after they argued about who would pay the car insurance payment Thursday night in Orange County, police said.

Vicki Sevege of Orlando was being held without bond at the Orange County jail on charges of second-degree attempted murder and domestic violence battery.

According to an arrest affidavit, Sevege was upset, starting scratching her husband and threatened to kill him following an intense argument inside their apartment in the 1700 block of Meeting Place.

After stepping on his big toe, Sevege grabbed a kitchen knife and her husband blocked the oncoming assault with his right arm.

She inflicted a minor cut, police said, the length of his forearm. He left their home and she fled in a vehicle from the scene, record show.

Police said the victim refused medical treatment.

The couple had been married for several years but the husband told police he thought Sevege was going to kill him.

Officers made contact with Sevege a few hours later and she was arrested.
