A Wisconsin man arrested on domestic abuse charges has not accepted blame for the allegations, but he has come up with an unusual excuse. Michael West, 41, claims that a ghost punched his wife.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday, police responded to the domestic disturbance call at the West household a Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s report obtained by The Smoking Gun reveals. When police got to the scene, they found Michael West and his wife. West’s wife told police that her husband had attempted to strangle her twice, and struck her in the face when she attempted to call 911.
According to a report by The Northwestern, West initially told police that his wife sustained her injuries as a result of a series of falls. When police continued to interrogate West about the situation, he finally caved and decided to divulge “the truth” about what had really happened.
“A ghost did it,” West told police.
West is being charged with domestic abuse, strangulation, battery, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He remains in custody in lieu of $1,000 bail.
This copy of the police report obtained by The Smoking Gun sheds some light on this bizzare case. Good riddance Michael West, and may your actions ‘haunt’ you.
