Police: Woman Used Red Nail Polish To Fake Injury In Domestic Dispute
January 18, 2012
WASHINGTON, Pa. — Police said a woman who bashed her husband with a bottle tried to cover up the crime with a bottle of red nail polish.
Investigators in Washington County said Jessica Gerard, 30, attacked her husband. When police arrived they said Gerard then lied to them about what happened to make it look like she was the victim.
The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday.
According to the criminal complaint Gerard struck her husband in the forehead with a glass bottle. When police arrived officers found him bleeding with scratches on his mouth and red marks on his back.
Before police arrived, investigators said Gerard grabbed a bottle of nail polish and painted it on her face.
The criminal complaint said Gerard told officers that she was struck in the face by her husband causing her nose to bleed.
Gerard was taken to the Washington County Jail on assault and lying to police charges.
