Court hearing for woman charged with slaying husband
POMONA – A woman who allegedly stabbed her estranged husband to death will be arraigned Tuesday at Pomona Superior Court.
Socorro Mora, 43, is accused of killing 47-year-old George Mora of Walnut on Oct. 19.
Deputies responding to a domestic violence call found an injured Socorro Mora in the front yard of a home in the 21600 block of Brookside Court in Walnut. She had stab wounds.
They discovered the body of George Mora inside the house. He lived in the Brookside Court residence with the couple’s four children.
A relative said the Moras were married in 1993 and separated in September.
According to a detective, George Mora got a restraining order against his estranged wife about three weeks before he was killed.
Socorro Mora is being held at the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood in lieu of $5 million bail.
