The Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with the White House to launch the Apps Against Abuse developer’s challenge ( ). This challenge aims to tap into the creativity and ingenuity of the American people to develop innovative technology applications that will encourage young women and men to take an active role in the prevention of dating violence and sexual assault.

In support of this national competition, we are delighted to announce an interactive webinar (August 10, 2011; 1-2pm EDT). This webinar will discuss the latest in domestic violence/sexual abuse research, and provide interested individuals and organizations with an opportunity to hear from and ask questions of senior HHS and White House representatives about this innovative and exciting challenge.

Come hear from Todd Park, HHS CTO, Lynn Rosenthal, White House Advisor on Violence Against Women, and other key experts about innovations to help end domestic violence and sexual abuse. A lively question and answer period will follow the presentations.

This webinar is open to all, but space is limited. The webinar will be geared towards those interested in developing applications.
