Pinal County Official Accused of Domestic Violence
Family law court commissioner facing charges
May 3, 2011
CASA GRANDE –
About 6 p.m. on Saturday, DPS received a 911 call from a man who said his wife had hit him and was refusing to let him out of their vehicle…
…Theresa Ratliff said that she and her husband were arguing over marital issues and that at one point she “inadvertently hit” him in the chest or arm, according to deputies.
Ratliff’s husband said that Theresa was yelling and wouldn’t let him get a word in edgewise and that she hit him. He told deputies he was afraid because of her erratic driving and wanted her to stop the vehicle and let him out. He called 911 because she refused, the report says.
They both showed signs of alcohol consumption, deputies say.
Theresa Ratliff is now facing charges of domestic violence assault and disorderly conduct…
…A commissioner is an attorney hired by the court to preside over family court hearings. Ratliff is Pinal County’s first family law court commissioner.
