New law allows GPS tracking of domestic violence offenders

Gov. Haley Barbour has signed into law a bill that would allow courts to require domestic violence offenders to wear global positioning monitoring systems as a condition of their bond.

The bill was authored by Rep. Brandon Jones, D-Pascagoula, who has in recent years championed numerous improvements to the states domestic violence and stalking laws.
